“I told you to run.”“Yeah, I don’t do running.”
home, not home
I was never patriotic towards my country. I never really care of politics and all I was aiming for was to go out of the country and find a better living and opportunities. The country is messy, I could not stand how government officers can be so inefficient and full of corruptions. The working mentality that hardly helps development of the country. The heart-breaking mentality that has been bringing the country down.
I was lucky my parents could afford my living and education in overseas, and I know how hard they work so we could graduate here in Australia and make a living here. I did ask myself so many times, why don’t I feel like I belong to the country that I have lived for more than half of my life. I just dont feel like I belong there. I don’t belong here. I don’t belong anywhere. My ancestors are from China, both my parents were born, raised and lived in Indonesia for their whole life, but we are still minority. Discrimination is there, some might not see it but it is there. I often question fairness in competition between public and private school competitions, coz it always seems that the juries (which mainly are from public school’s representatives) always prioritise public schools participants. I am not sure how things are ruled nowadays, but back in the days this kind of discrimination can really be seen. They cheat, the juries were not clean. Ever once, my headmaster rejected the trophy for our choir group. We were ranked number two when clearly the school who was ranked number 1 performed poorly compared to our school.
Many times, me and my sister were upset with how things are done, and everytime, my dad will tell us that ’ That is how things are run here. Don’t be upset.’
and one more, I really cannot stand how ‘money talks’ really depicts how people works there. And those who rank higher than you at work will fuss so much about not being respected rather than focusing on how things are done at work. Again, efficiency problems.
I’ll continue writing this soon as I need to sleep. Yay for Friday!
I know nothing about politic, and nor I want to be involved in anyway.
It is a place where true words are lost, even the meaning of truth seems twisted.
My prayer goes to Malaysians who are utterly disappointed with how their election went, and I hope the change to the better will be on its way.
peace be with you
do not be affraid
trusting it all in His hands
and true peace shall become ours
